Oh my, a year has passed and we have not updated this blog. So sorry, friends. It’s not that we do not have anything going on, in fact there have been a lot of things going on in our lives. But you know the culprit behind this lack of updates?

Facebook.

Yeah, and it seems that even the greatest bloggers have succumbed to this phenomenon. Short and quick messages. Just post pictures. People comment. And bam! You’re done.

I don’t know if we can maintain this blog longer than we would want to. But we will try.

Our plan for this year for our 6th (!) anniversary is to go to Laoag and Vigan.  Our trip to Bacolod, as you may have seen in our last post as the place we were planning to go to, was a blast.  Yes, the details are in our facebook accounts.

So, hope we will see you around, and hope we can update this blog a little more.  Facebook’s been a real bummer lately.

We will be having 5th year anniversary by November and we are psyched!  We are going to Bacolod to celebrate! Yay!

We really hope we could update this blog more often. There are so many things happening in our lives now that we do not know where to start. Either that or we’re too damn tired to even begin.

Yeah, yeah. I have the feeling you know what I was talking about even before I posted the pics. These are from my recent visit to Bacolod and nearby municipalities for a project on Avian Flu. Gamefowl breeding is the 2nd largest industry in Negros Occidental and so we could just imagine how big and impact this pandemic will have on the province. The issue here now is not if the Bird Flu pandemic will happen, it’s just a question of when.

Heniwey as a side trip we also visited and ate at some of the well known food stops in Bacolod. Pardon the pics, I was not really prepared and I didn’t not bring my analog (film) cameras with me so pardon the crappy digital pics.

We ate Mama Maria’s but I could not remember what this pizza was. Basta it’s big and cheap and yummy.

We also passed by the Balay Negrense but we did not go in because we were on our way to the airport.

I’ll be going back to Bacolod by next month so I hope I’d take more photos by then.

While he played a gay mortician in “Six Feet Under”, in this new crime thriller, he plays a forensic scientist specializing in blood spatter analysis.  The twist? 

He is a serial killer…who hunts down criminals who haven’t been brought to justice.  Oh, I loooooooooooooove the premise!  And I absolutely loved the pilot episode where he is immediately faced with a nemesis—an unknown, faceless serial killer who hunts down hookers, drains all of their blood and slices the bodies of the victims in even, clean cuts.  Dexter interprets it as a gift to him to impress him.  While he solves crimes in the day, he stalks criminals at night and in his words, “when I am REALLY sure of their guilt”, Dexter gets rids of them—in his own signature serial killer style.  He wraps the bodies in cling wrap while they are still alive, gives their right cheek a quick slice, show them evidence of their guilt, chops/saws them to pieces, get a drop of their blood and place in a glass slide along with other blood of the criminals he has killed, and places them in his airconditioning unit to preserve the blood.

I have been fascinated with serial killers ever since I bought Anne Rule’s book about Ted Bundy, “A Stranger Beside Me.”  After devouring the book, I proceeded to killing animals…(readers pick up phone to dial 911)…I’m just kidding!  Dear Lord!  I just bought other books about other serial killers like Dahmer, read Patricia Cornwell books, and began watching movies that featured serial killers like “Copycat”, “Seven”, and the like.  It still baffles me how they can do it…and at times made me think if I am capable to do it.

So, if you are not into this genre, the series is not for you.  The pace is slow and methodical with a dark sense of humor, mimicking that of how a serial killer thinks.  But if you are a fan of CSI and Psycho, this is really is it!

Catch “Dexter” every Thursday night on the Fox Crime channel and hear him say:  “In Miami, everyday is a good day to die…”

Our Own Space

Aside from our own blogs, Bridget Jones is A Man and Calm Before the Storm, we also would like to have our own space in our new home.  To all the couples out there, it is important that you have your own space, literally and figuratively.  Remember, although both of you are one by virtue of your relationship, each one should still grow individually and having your own space is one important factor that can be contributory to such.
